TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES FOR MUSIC IN WORSHIP

Details of the forthcoming training programme are included on the events page. If you wish to obtain details of other events being planned, or if you have any training suggestions, or would welcome some support (choosing music, conducting tricky time signatures, preparing choristers for the awards, how to pedal a particularly tricky passage on the organ or warm-up your choir in an interesting way, etc), our Education and Training Officer would be very pleased to hear from you (see the contacts page).

Lenten Music Pilgrimage

A chance for ALL musicians in the Diocese (plus anyone else with an interest in music in worship) to come together for a few hours and during that time to:

  • Share a simple meal together
  • Discuss the issues facing musicians in God's Church today
  • Try out some new resources (in various musical styles)
  • Share in an act of worship with time for reflection and prayer

To be held in five different locations in the Diocese during Lent - come to the one that suits you best

Each evening dstarts at 6.30 with a simple meal and warm drink, and finsishes at 9pm.

Piano to Organ

A short morning workshop designed to support those pianists called upon to play the organ. Expert and friendly guidance from Jonathan Lilley will cover how to select appropriate stops for service accompaniment and venture onto the pedals with a bit of swell box thrown in.

10am-12pm Saturday 26th May 2012

St Andrew's Church, Soham

Cost: £8 per participant to cover costs. Donations welcome too!
